Animation on Cyber Bullying

A short animation that I put together on Cyberbullying.  I found this website off a year 6 class blog in Auckland.  Some of the children in the class had put together an animation from what they had been learning about blood.  It's quite cheezy, but a fun tool for kids to use. :-)

The Journey So Far..

Below is a glimpse of the statistics that we are discovering when surveying children, young people, and parents in New Zealand in relation to Cyber Bullying.

According to a survey conducted online and in a high school in Auckland 97% of young people and parents think cyber bullying is an issue for young people in New Zealand.

Approximately 1 in every 6 young people have been a victim of cyber bullying.

And 45% (almost half of the young people surveyed!) say they have done something that may have been considered to be cyber bullying.

A Cyber Bullying Story -- Ryan Halligan age 13

This is really moving.  quite intense, but worth a look. The perspective of a parent and friend of a 13 year old boy who was cyber bullied.  Looking at the faces in the crowd reminds me how young some of these kids are that are having to deal with this kind of rubbish.

Cyber Bullying - Lets fight it Together

We need your help!

In order to make the most of our investigation, we need your help, and your opinions on cyber bullying :)
We've written up 2 surveys, one for children and young people, and the other is for parents. Both of the surveys only take a few minutes (I promise!), and it would be awesome to have your thoughts and opinions. Everything is anonymous.
